On April 7, 2022(Thursday), Veteran Scout Meeting of the Korea Scout Association held a regular general meeting in 2022 with more than 30 Veteran scouts from all over the country, attending despite the continued COVID-19 at the Scout Hall on the first floor of the Korea Scout Association(President : Kang Tae-sun, Chairman of Black Yak).
“I would like to thank the veteran scouts for their lifelong commitment to the scouting campaign for youth without paying any price or remuneration. As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Korea Scout Movement, the Korea Scout Association is preparing various projects to help more teenagers participate in the scout movement and grow properly, so please pay a lot of attention and help.” said Kang Tae-sun, president of the Korea Scout Association.
At the general meeting, Kim Jae-woong(87) was elected as the new chairman and the decision was made after in-depth discussions such as awarding the veteran scout plaque, 2021 project and report on final accounts, 2022 project plan and budget report, and 2022 budget approval. The new chairman Kim Jae-woong is a veteran scout from Daegu who has been with the scouting for more than 60 years since 1962.
Former chairman Koo Il-wan(85) was elected as an advisor, Yang Byung-tae(86) veteran scout was elected as a local representative for the audit, and Jeong Tae-ro(79) veteran scout was elected as a representative of the metropolitan area for the audit.
Lee Dong-soo(92), veteran scout was elected vice chairman as in the Seoul metropolitan area, veteran scout Lee Byung-chul was elected vice chairman as in Chungcheong, Gangwon, veteran scout Kim Young-chang(77) was elected vice chairman as in Yeongnam area and veteran scout Lee Eui-joon was elected vice chairman as in Jeju, Jeulla.
Veteran scout Choi Byung-soo(79) was appointed as secretary general.
In this year, Shin Dong-kyu(Seoul Northern Council, 82), Ahn Jung-ie(Daegu Council, 79), Choi Young-hwan(Daegu Council, 85), and Cho Chil-sung(Catholic Council, 75), were selected as new veteran scout.
Veteran scouts are selected by the president after a resolution by the board of directors of the Korea Scout Association among leaders who have served for more than 30 years and have been trained Course for Leaders trainer who held four beads and a total of 200 veteran scouts are currently active.
Lee Hang-bok(67, Chief Commissioner of the Korea Scout Association) who Camp Chief of the 25th World Scout Jamboree, accounts for Camp Site and all preparations have been going well.
